I have this one client who requires me to use #MSOffice, #Outlook and all that #microslop regularely makes me cry frequently. – The exact one single purpose of 2FA is to NOT react on a random request that one has not initated! What this dialog needs is a “I guess this is very wrong and I maybe worth checking for abuse” button not a “Send me an even less secure code to my E-Mail”.

I've been using #libreoffice for 10 years in my consulting business & i love it. all my clients use #msoffice, and my presentations & spreadsheets are seamless💙

I do very much want libre to release a tablet version. i always use 2-in-1 laptops, so i can notate on the fly, but i can't draw freehand in libreoffice
especially being able to sketch diagrams or mark up things in the presentation app. i really miss that feature from powerpoint😞

Hab heute nochmal einen sauberen Diskettensatz von Microsoft Word 6.0 für Windows 3.1 bekommen und erfolgreich ausgelesen und auch testweise installiert. Diesmal handelt es sich um die Update-Version aus dem Jahre 1993, die vor der Installation nach älteren Fassungen des Programms sucht. Meine Disketten von Winword 2.0b wurden zum Glück problemlos akzeptiert.

Last I knew, Microsoft office allowed for tables (SPREADSHEETS) to be placed inside of a document. Is this still the case? Ability to sort information matters, so a standard "table" doesn't cut it. We ought to be able to sort a list in 2026....

Die Diskussion würde ich mir deutlicher bei #msoffice und Co wünschen.
Nutzt zwar auch fast „jede:r“, aber bei Autos ist „der Deutsche“ (bewusst nicht gegendert) auf einmal wachsam.

Moin! Den Sonntag damit begonnen, MS Office zu deinstallieren und mein Abo zu kündigen.
Das schwierigste war, dieses dämliche OneDrive vom Rechner zu bekommen. Hat aber geklappt und fühlt sich gut an :-)
Habe ich sowieso nicht genutzt, da ich eigentlich alles auf dem NAS ablege.

My #MSOffice installation threw one of those fits when you won’t let it connect to the mothership, so it will not function without fishing out the disks and reinstalling. It does this every year or three.

So far, I have had a few instances with either word or spreadsheet documents needing editing. While I love using #Corel #WordPerfect #QuattroPro suite, it doesn’t always handle things as well.

I remembered a stale copy of #LibreOffice was installed, so I tried that. It managed all I have needed of it so far, and I suspect I will not reconsider the Office reinstall unless I need to use PivotTables, and that isn’t very often lately.

Yes, the Office is an old version, and owned, not leased. I have more than had my money’s worth out of it, and no, there is no way I will be upgrading it. No, I don’t let it near the www.

Wenn wir in #Europa endlich unabhängig von #USA und #China werden wollen, müssen wir an sehr vielem arbeiten. Und das muss gestartet werden. Jetzt!
Ich lese immer sehr viel von digitaler Unabhängigkeit. Bei Messengern weg von #WhatsApp. Beim Betriebssystem hin zu #Linux. #Libreoffice statt #MsOffice. Hin zu #Nextcloud und damit weg von #GoogleDrive, #iCloud, #Dropbox, #OneDrive & Co.
Bei Finanz lese ich aber immer nur #Wero statt #Paypal. Und da klemmt es schon. Wero ist unnötig kompliziert gemacht. Damit die Einstiegsschwelle hoch. Warum zum Teufel muss meine Bank es anbieten. Bei PayPal ist die Bank auch scheißegal.
Und worüber niemand spricht: Schaffen einer europäischen Alternative zu #Visa, #Mastercard, #AmericanExpress. Da müssen wir auch ran.

Ziehen die Amis Morgen den Stecker sind wir zurückgeworfen ins Mittelalter

@AwetTesfaiesus FB und IG habe ich zwar noch Accounts, aber nur noch, um im Einzelfall mal was zu lesen. #WhatsApp habe ich noch, da ich einige Peers und meine Familie noch nicht in Gänze wegbewegen konnte. Aber es wird weniger. #Spotify gekündigt, nutze jetzt #Qobuz. Podcasts über #Podverse. Auf dem MacBook habe ich mir jetzt zusätzlich #libreoffice eingerichtet. Wenn ich die Streamingangebote kündige, killt mich vermutlich meine Familie. 😅
