UAC-0001 (APT28) has launched cyberattacks against Ukraine and EU countries exploiting the CVE-2026-21509 vulnerability in Microsoft Office products. The threat actor created malicious DOC files targeting government bodies and EU organizations. The attack chain involves WebDAV connections, COM hijacking, and the use of the COVENANT framework, which utilizes Filen cloud storage for command and control. The campaign began shortly after the vulnerability's disclosure, with multiple documents discovered containing similar exploits. The attackers employ sophisticated techniques to evade detection and maintain persistence, including disguising malicious files as legitimate Windows components and creating scheduled tasks.

Russian hackers exploit recently patched #Microsoft #Office bug in attacks
I like that governments finally realised that we we can't rely on Microsoft and their infra and decided it's time to switch.
But fuck, Germany is working on OpenDesk, France is working on La Suite Numerique and today I read that Polish gov also wants to build our national replacement for Office.
Why can't them team up and build one and use them all?
Im Im Oktober 2025 sind viele Laptops mit dem Betriebssystem Windows (10) "abgelaufen". Sie erhalten keine Sicherheitsupdates mehr und können ggfs. auch nicht auf das aktuellste Windows aktualisieren, da die Hardware augenscheinlich zu schwach sei.
Im Verein setzen wir viel auf Open Source Lösungen und nutzen größtenteils Linux als Betriebssystem. Wenn ihr also einen Laptop bei euch rumliegen habt und der verstaubt nur noch, dann spendet ihn gerne an unsere Büromenschen!
