Con un producto me vino uno de esos trial de descarga por 90 días del "Corel AfterShot Pro 3" (ya ni saben que ponerle). Claro que para Winchot o Mac... Se lo pasé a una amiga si lo quería probar, nomás para hacer calentar a Stallman.
Hace mucho que no usaba productos de #Corel, y aunque no es malo y evidentemente está inspirado en el LightRoom de Adob€, también podemos decir que es un tremendo afano a mano armada al #LightZone. Muchachos, en Linux prueben lightzoneproject.org de una. Le terminé instalando el Lightzone en Windows y anda fenómeno, tiene casi todo lo que tiene este y sale $0.

My #MSOffice installation threw one of those fits when you won’t let it connect to the mothership, so it will not function without fishing out the disks and reinstalling. It does this every year or three.

So far, I have had a few instances with either word or spreadsheet documents needing editing. While I love using #Corel #WordPerfect #QuattroPro suite, it doesn’t always handle things as well.

I remembered a stale copy of #LibreOffice was installed, so I tried that. It managed all I have needed of it so far, and I suspect I will not reconsider the Office reinstall unless I need to use PivotTables, and that isn’t very often lately.

Yes, the Office is an old version, and owned, not leased. I have more than had my money’s worth out of it, and no, there is no way I will be upgrading it. No, I don’t let it near the www.

I know it is silly, but sometimes I yearn to go back to #Corel #WordPerfect. I've used #LibreOffice since it forked from #OpenOffice, but WordPerfect still to this day can be purchased once and just used. It's the way professional software should be sold. Not to corpo-simp or anything, but still. Software developers gotta make money and that seems like the ethical way to do it, generally.

Zum Schluß wollen wir untersuchen, welche Lösungen für die Zukunft geeignet wäre um flüssig mit Bitmaps und Vektor zusammen zu arbeiten.

Als erstes sammeln wir alles zu den Insides was wir finden können, inkl. archive.org.

Der ein oder andere vergessene Fork hilft uns den Code besser zu verstehen. Hier wollen wir eine "post-hume" Architektur- & Software-Design Doku erstellen. Dann wollen wir versuchen den alten "Stand" in einem Docker-Container wieder zum laufen zu bringen.

Das eigentliche Ziel wäre erstmal ein analytischer FileFormat Parser ggf. mit besserem Export.

Da ich bis heute keine Lösung gefunden habe, was das gvdesign Fileformat native und verlustfrei unterstützt, überlege ich mit Hilfe der alten OpenSource-Codes einen gvdesign Parser zu schreiben, und ggf. ein bessere Zielformat als SVG/PDF/PNG zu finden.

#Gravit Designer vs. #Corel Vector (1#4)

Heute ist der Todestag von "Corel Vector", früher bekannt als "Gravit Designer". Imho eins der besten webbasierten Grafik-Design Apps, die wunderbar Vektor, Typo & Bitmap miteinander verbunden hat. Würde sagen, es war seiner Zeit um 10-12 Jahre voraus.

Gravit Designer war sogar mal OpenSource. Deswegen habe ich darauf gesetz. Und nun hat Corel es wohl nur gekauft um es als Konkurent zu beseitigen.
