I tested my #Librem 5 running #Crimson #PureOS the last days with #PureMaps turn by turn navigation in the car.
Note that due to a bug (for which a fix is in the pipeline) I had to enable manually gnss-share first:
sudo systemctl status gnss-share.service
After that PureMaps worked flawlessly for navigation up to speeds of 130 km/h.
Unfortunately, the voice instruction volume is a little to low for me though.
@utopify_org @thibaultamartin @postmarketOS The #flatpak arm build of #SignalApp works great on the #Librem 5 with #postmarketOS and #PureOS Crimson. I also use it with family and friends, along with #DeltaChat.

Proces powolnego ograniczania Androida i całego ekosystemu obudowanego wokół niego realizowany przez Google jest faktem od dłuższego czasu. Korporacja robi co tylko może, żeby w sposób jak najmniej widoczny, metodą gotowania żaby, zamykać swój system. Mimo że daleko mu jeszcze do Apple, to jednak stara się jak może.

Die hohe Integration technischer Bauteilen in Smartphones führt dazu das nur wenige Smartphones mechanische KillSwitches verwenden.
Eines davon ist das #Librem 5(https://www.notebookcheck.com/Librem-5-Das-Privacy-Smartphone-gibt-es-ab-sofort-zum-deutlich-guenstigeren-Preis.751031.0.html) dass natürlich nicht mit #Android ausgestattet ist. Jedoch ist das Librem 5 mit 999,-- Dollar recht teuer.
Alle mir bekannten #Mobilfunkmodems unterstützen GSM.
Kennt jemand ein 4G oder 5G Modem, dass kein GSM unterstützt?

Gasp. I hope that it were true, but my heart has been broken by disappointment before (*cough*#librem*cough*). But I digress.
Can somebody give me a damn #Linux phone with #openfirmware, #gnome or #plasma mobile, a decent camera, mic and screen with enough processing, memory and storage to meet with modern self hosting in mind.
Indeed, who can deliver me my dream phone? I'd be ever so happy to know about it.

@AnimeAndVisial well my #PocoF1 lasts about 8 hours per charge, so you shouod probably carry a power bank like I did. There are also some quirk peculiar to my phone like not being able to receive calls on suspend and no camera drivers, but if you get an actual designed-for-Linux phone like the #PinePhone or #Librem those are not issues (besides maybe the battery life)

@luana Using a #Librem 5 with #phosh (on #Debian based distros) since several years. All the common bits (phone calls, SMS, mobile data, GPS positioning, proximity and orientations sensors, leds, haptic feedback, cameras, …) etc work.
The app ecosystem (as mentioned in this thread) is growing and has nice options already. Camera usage has some quirks (userspace / app limitations) but there's 3A (thanks @pavel) so "point and shoot".
