Good morning my tooting friends. Another chilly night down here in Chiltern. It was just 5c overnight doesn’t feel much better now although the sun is lovely. Heading to a very pleasant 24c today. There was a lot of strong wind overnight & caused one of the outdoor blinds to come loose & was banging around during the night. I’ll try to figure out a temporary fix today for the homeowner. I need to find some string or wire - we’ll see what I can come up with. No bunny 🐇for the dogs to chase this morning, but they were definitely looking.
It won’t be exactly a quiet day for me unfortunately. I’m heading into town, checking out my place & watering the garden. I need a couple of things from the supermarket & will also visit my sister who has family visits from Sydney so I’ll catch up with them as well. Then back here to Chiltern where I will go over to what is another regular house sit here & feed their cat & chooks (they took the dogs with them) before I come back to the sit I am actually doing.
Reading all that I’ve just decided I’m going to buy my lunch 🤣.

busiest day in recent memory.
Ba had her 1st exam & dropped off the Micra last night, so we picked that up & dropped Yt off, picked Az up then saw the doc, picked up the new-ly prescribed meds, tried for an ekg but the machine was out, then Ma had a filling. Barely drank water.

Alt Bonus:

Swapping vehicles Ba drove me to iL's work and saw spotify on the dash for the first time

Yt found out 3-4 months ago that Ma is trans since they put “ftm” on their discord status

Yt was joking how "santa's" 500ml pop cost more than a 2Liter of iced tea he wanted but held off while waiting for his meds

it ended up being the heat shield on the Micra again but they asked to do more

Haven't posted much about life lately because I've been so gd cranky. This is almost certainly due to an oversupply of busy and a lack of sleep.

But anyway, I did get to the markets today and bought some really good jam which I intend to hide from both sons so that I can eat it all myself (they have other jam, don't worry). Got some veggie seedlings too.

I also have a weekend's worth of freelance work to do – the last stuff I'll do this year as I'm still trying to gatekeep my time a bit better – and so much washing, so whether I get any gardening time remains to be seen, but the good news is that the strawberry plants are doing great. I had to drop Kid4's glasses in at school this week (aka 'another reason to be cranky') and when I returned I saw two ripe ones and picked them and ate them both. Could have been riper, but I'm risking the birds and the slugs if I leave them too long!

My left hand is outstretched and on my fingers are two almost ripe strawberries. In the background you can see my desk which has a pale wood coloured finish and my computer keyboard, which is a split keyboard and cost a lot when we bought it but omg it's so much easier to use then a regular one and also it's delightfully clicky and it lights up from underneath and I have it cycling through the rainbow 🌈
