🐦 This Blue Tit was pausing for a split second between snacks! Fun fact: their blue caps actually glow under UV light to attract mates. Nature is properly wild.

It's been a busy few weeks, what with travel for work, birthday parties, and tedious illness. But this weekend, I should be able to get back to making some wee birdies (with a break for the Italy vs Scotland match of course).

I've made simple sketches, mapping colours and some blending thoughts. The drawings are the same size as I will make the initial cane, so I'll use them as a map and lay the shaped blocks on top to check sizes.

Tawny owl (Strix aluco) peeking out of its hole with what looks like a grumpy morning face. This specific owl has lived in this tree for at least a few years now and is a well known celebrity among birders that visit the Hoge Veluwe park.

Hach, macht das Spaß mit dem neuen Kamera-Setup. Wenn die Rückwand nicht mehr locker am Objektiv klappert, man beim Zoomen nicht den Sand halber Strände im Tubus knirschen hört und sogar der nervige Wackelkontakt weg ist.
