My linocut portrait of Marjorie Rice with 4 groupings of her 4 pentagonal tiling patterns in pale orange, pink, purple and lime. Made new test prints on some off-cuts, using a slightly stronger developer solution than usual to see impact on max. depth. The main image (Eagle Creek, Oregon) is using 18% sodium acetate (curve corrected negative), the test strips are of 20% and 15% solutions (both uncorrected). The phone capture doesn't really show the differences too well, but I think I will go for the 18-20% from now on...

My linocut shows three heart cockles (Corculum cardissa) with the words, “You warm the cockles of my heart”. Each 6.5” x 8” print is hand printed on Japanese paper. The cockles are viewed from the side so they look like hearts and have varied patterns in two tints of coral pink (spots, concentric stripes with wavy patterns and splotches around the edge of the heart shape).

In the middle in pink ink is the outline of a hand with a heart in its palm. At the bottom reads “HERE” in red. On the left in the cool state the hand is covered in pink thermochromic ink. WIP, live from the workshop :)

Testing for the first time a two-color print on my in-progress Sarracenia pitcher plant mezzotint. I don't have the exact final green with me, but it's close enough. I was mostly interested in testing the blending between them, and how the red would fare as it's a color that often shifts on copper. And indeed it's a bit dull, I'll have to try some tricks.

But overall I'm very happy with it! The engraving itself needs more work, to better define details, increase some local contrast, and finish cleaning the remaining parts of the halo. But it's nearly there ^^

My linocut print of the Pigeonhole Principle shows Dirichlet in blue, a bearded man with heavy brow, wearing a suit with arms crossed, looking a bit cross. Behind him is a bank of pigeonholes in a gradient of blue to gold. Each one contains one or two pigeons in black on grey with turquoise and violet markings. The pigeonholes may extend infinitely in all directions - the shelves appear to go on beyond the 4 x 7 array of pigeonholes shown.

Slowly getting into a rhythm to start the day with doing a print each morning, each time still tweaking either negatives, concentrations and/or durations of different processing stages to adjust tones/hues... A new adventure with some back and forth each time!

This print is of Langkofel / Sassolungo, one of my favourite mountain massifs, just such interesting features and so many dear memories, here seen from the east (around half and hour before sunset)...
