Bazzite Linux founder releases...
Kinda sad that #TEX are the only ones making external #TrackPoint #Keyboards.
https://tex.com.tw/collections/keyboard
I mean they [sell](SK8707-01) the trackpoint modules and rubber caps, and they do #OEM #Keyboards so worst-case one could do it like the #VaioP11Z or like #GPDwin have it mounted to the side.

Engineering #PortableElectronics that are in constant contact with a user's skin is NOT trivial and the #SteamDeck certainly started it's development way before the #NintendoSwitch or #GPDwin were announced.
$1,500 for an AMD 385+ handled?
I mean, I'm excited to see the Radeon 8050S and 8060S on more products, but at that price is DOA. You can get a full laptop with an RTX 5070 Ti on discount for that money.
I'm tired of saying the same: both #StrixHalo and #StrixPoint are overpriced.

@BrideOfLinux nifty...
I mean, a real successor to the #GPDwin.but for #Linux would be awesome...
@pgcd @Hayden there are some cheap chinese "#subnetbooks" that copy the successful #GPDwin...
Time to discuss what memory timings to use on this tiny monster to get best performance....might want to look into undervolting the GPD Win Mini too.

This is proof that it’s risky to order a handheld PC from companies like GPD, Ayaneo, OneXPlayer, etc. GPD doesn’t have enough supply of the Ryzen 7 7840U APU, thus delaying those product that use them.
It’s already risky enough buying it through Kickstarter, you don’t know if you are going to get the product or not. With Lenovo releasing the Legion Go along with Asus ROG Ally being competitors with the Steam Deck, I don’t see any of these Chinese handhelds being viable in the future, especially given how expensive they are compared to the Legion Go and ROG Ally, which are priced as close to the high end Steam Deck with better specs, EGPU support, and better customer support. Of course, there is the Steam Deck, but it’s too big for some people.
Hopefully a kit that you can build you own handheld using a AMD Framework 13 Ryzen 7 7840U mainboard can become a thing too, although there is a prototype out in the wild, but not something mass produced.
Pre-emptively added the GPD Win Mini to my list of hardware in use as I impatiently await it.

@sleepybisexual In terms of #Switch #Emulation even a #SteamDeck is pretty much at the lower end.
With some luck you can snipe a #GPDwin used on eBay but I'd not think it can do anything beyond PSP, PS1 & Dreamcast and maybe some #3DS games...
That price point is hard to hit outside of buying a used #new3DS...
Not shure if a #Fairphone5 with a Bluetooth Controller would fit the bill...
Maybe @fuchsiii knows something?
@LunaRogue with a shitty touch keyboard?
After updating to the 317 BIOS on the ROG Ally, it outperforms the AMD Ryzen 6800U GPD Win 4, especially the Steam Deck by a mile in turbo mode and gives respectable scores at performance mode in 3DMark Time Spy. The scores are 2668 for Performance and 3202 at turbo. This beats the Steam Deck by a mile, which only gets a paltry 1713 in Timespy. This is a 35% and 47% performance improvement when compared to the Steam Deck.
On the GPD Win 4, I put the TDP at 28 W like the Ally. The best it can do is 2522 and 2294 at 15W, despite having 32 GB of RAM.
GPD Win Mini will be a small(ish) handheld gaming PC with a clamshell design

This is what happens when you jump down the handheld gaming PC rabbit hole, you end up wanting more and perhaps something a bit more practical size so you can play video games anywhere.
The #GPDWin line of devices have been my primary #gaming device since 2016. I've all three of the current devices at home.
But I don't think I can justify a new device a year, especially now I'm only commuting once a week and could in theory use my desktop (I rarely do) and the GPD WIN is now more expensive than my desktop.
As much as I want it, I think I will have to skip this one. :`(
