@stackeffect @howard @xenodium Doesn't #mpd just allow remote control of the server via the client? I wasn't able to get it to stream from the server and play music on the client. The #mpd client basically just showed what was playing on the server.

For my #mpd frontend this is is about it! _Almost_ pure qml except for the visualizer which is a nasty, but sane enough hack.
I'll probably code my own with Qt c++ , fft and cairo (at least I'm good with one of those 👅 ).

Not much chop with python either but seems like a good choice for the backend, especially since there will be more front facing stuff like playlists, album list, whole collection lists etc.

#Tennessee #HighwayPatrol charges peaceful protesters During the #anti-ICE protest #THP, despite orders to NOT escalate from #MemphisPD, charged protesters and started grabbing/cursing at them. #MPD blocked the road and redirected traffic around the protest and did not engage during the event.

I just found that RMPC and Poweramp (on my phone) allow you to define characters for how to split genres. So now you can have "epic doom metal // doom metal" to have it appear for both?

rmpc is a TUI client for #mpd with modern terminal features.

cava is a TUI audio visualizer that rmpc can embed and it can visualize mpd-like FIFOs

snapcast is a generic service for synchronized audio over network. Which can read from mpd FIFOs. And on the client-side output into any file – including ones created by mkfifo.

One hacky shellscript and a bunch of configuration later and I have 60fps audio visualization for a *remote* mpd instance in my terminal. 🤤

While #ICE has scared many neighbors from leaving their homes, #Minneapolis is stepping up. #MPD Community Services Officers are working with local pastors to deliver food and groceries to families afraid to go out. Minneapolis, #Minnesota will continue to show up for one another with care and love.
