When put next to each other, it’s funny how close Apple Music and Winamp are in size. At the same time, Apple needs several screens to essentially show what Winamp can fit into one. And they still had space left for an equalizer!

Anyone remember Winamp? I remember finding something similar called Xion. The cool thing was you could create your own skins for the interface using PSDs. All you had to do was name your layers certain words and the app automatically assigned button code to the design for you. My intro to code... Naming layers 😆😆

I don't get the nostalgia for #winamp style media player UIs,
The pixel-art skins are usually impossible on modern high-DPI screens without scaling, and were probably fidgety even on a 1280x1024 screen in 2003.
They always seem to be broken up into a stack of secondary fly-out windows. Wasn't browsing the media pool/playlist a major paradigm as soon as we got libraries over 50 tracks?
I guess what I want is some sort of #Motif audio player, since that's my retro-charm style of choice.

Mám takové hobby, hledám streamy různých online rádií a pouštím si je ve starém dobrém Winampu.
V seznamu mám asi 30 rádií a z těch desítek prolustrovaných webových stránek jsem narazil na asi jenom dvě rádia, které jsem nedokázal podojit (získat hratelné URL).
Jedna stanice mě obzvlášťe mrzí. Slovenské rádio Melody.
A tak nezbývá, než si ho pouštět z oficiálních zdrojů. ;-)
