Isle of #Anglesey Council 💬 Fallen tree blocking the B5420, Pentraeth Road in #MenaiBridge. We will be in attendance shortly to assess the situation and remove the tree, if safe to do so.
Bridges update:
#A55 #BritanniaBridge: 30mph advisory limit in place and restrictions for motorbikes and caravans. Restrictions for all vehicles except cars expected from midday, with possible full closure 5pm Sunday until 1am Monday. For vehicles under 7.5t, diversion route is via the #MenaiBridge.
#A5 #Ceiriog / #A483 #DeeViaduct: Closed until 6am Monday. Diversion via A539, A5 Llangollen and B5070.
#A548 #FlintshireBridge: To close to all traffic from 2:30pm Sunday.

⚠️ #A55 BRITANNIA BRIDGE - #Anglesey and #Gwynedd County Councils are warning of disruption tonight (Wednesday) due to #StormAgnes
#BritanniaBridge may be closed to high-sided vehicles at times this evening (potentially 6-7pm and again 10pm-12am)
The bridge may even need to close to all traffic after 7pm.
To facilitate the above, lane closures are being put in place either side of the bridge
Meanwhile on the #MenaiBridge, scheduled work this evening has been suspended
🌳 #A545 has been closed near Glyn Garth Court flats (near #MenaiBridge) due to a fallen tree hanging dangerously over the carriageway. Isle of #Anglesey County Council have said they expect the road to remain closed until at least mid-afternoon tomorrow (Wed 20th), because conditions are too poor to clear the tree safely. ✅ The #MenaiBridge has reopened today to traffic under 7.5 tonnes.
The #MenaiBridge opened on this day in 1826. Designed by Thomas Telford, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world at the time. The Institution of Civil Engineers Library and Archive have shared these pictures today.
