J.G. Strudom Windhoek Namibia International Airport South West Africa Postcard
.
#AirportArchitecture #Namibia #Aviation #Avgeek #Postcards

The image is a color postcard showing an airport terminal and control tower under a bright blue sky with scattered white clouds. On the left is a tall, cylindrical air traffic control tower with stacked, circular levels and wraparound windows. Attached to it is a low terminal building with large glass walls and a flat roof. To the right, a longer terminal structure extends outward with a gently curved, overhanging roof supported by dark columns.

In the foreground, a paved roadway runs alongside the terminal, with a few parked and moving cars visible near the curb. Tall, curved streetlights line the road. A narrow strip of grass separates the road from a white fence near the terminal. The overall architectural style is modern and mid-20th century, with clean lines and extensive use of glass. Along the right edge of the postcard, large vertical letters spell “SWA.”

The image is a vintage illustrated postcard titled “Spooning in the Moon,” arranged as two side-by-side scenes against a dark night sky filled with small yellow stars and swirling cloud shapes. In both scenes, a large crescent moon with a human face floats in the sky, shown in profile. A man and a woman appear interacting with the crescent moon. In the left scene, the couple stands together inside the curve of the moon. The woman wears a long, light-colored dress with a high waist and full skirt, along with a wide-brimmed hat. The man wears a light-colored suit and hat, and he is turned toward her with one arm raised as if speaking or gesturing. In the right scene, the couple sits together on the lower tip of the crescent moon, facing each other closely. The woman’s skirt drapes over the curve of the moon, and the man sits beside her with his legs hanging down. Along the far right edge of the postcard, the printed title “Spooning in the Moon” appears vertically, with handwritten cursive writing below it.The image is a vintage illustrated postcard titled “Spooning in the Moon,” divided into two side-by-side scenes set against a dark night sky filled with small yellow stars and dark, swirling clouds. The man wears a light-colored jacket, trousers, and a brimmed hat, and he stands close beside her, facing inward toward the moon.

In the right scene, the crescent moon again fills the center, smiling slightly. The woman stands on the inner curve of the moon, leaning forward and holding the man by the hand or arm. The man is shown slipping or hanging downward from the moon, with his body angled below it and his legs extended, as if he is losing his balance.
