I will never understand why people want their children, or anyone, to go through hellish experiences that they did.

It doesn't "build character", it causes trauma.

If @powerword and I can help it, our child won't have to go through the traumatic things that we did.
We should want better for our kids, not equal or worse.

It's interesting when people believe their suffering should be experienced by others.

"I paid my loans!" "I worked through college!" "Coming out used to be hard!" "My dad hit us and I'm fine!"

What in your heart makes you want someone else to go through that?

Here's why it worked for me.
I understood w/powers of social influence - I can initiate some things that ppl without that influence can. I made a choice to try & use my power of social influence to do better & use it to try to mediate differences between ppl who actually shared many core values/ethics but allowed shitass stereotypes & fear of genuinely communicating, to bridge differences.

If we have social influence powers - we should try to use that to better our worlds.
