I do enjoy a desktop environment that allows you to _easily_ create an old skool right-click menu on your desktop.

There's some quirks to configuring the ordering, not sure if I'll need to hand edit the menu once I get it most of the way there.

For a mutli-head setup this avoids having to have an Application Launcher on every screen, but it does require access to unobscured desktop in order to work.

And my nerdy part likes the '80s-'90s UNIX desktop vibes it creates. Ha.

Ich war Linux Mint etwas überdrüssig. Mir war nach was neuem. Und so habe ich heute spontan Mint von meiner Platte geworfen, und tobe mich nun mit Fedora KDE aus. Das habe ich zuvor in einer VM ausprobiert. Und nun auf meinem Hauptsystem. Drucker und Scanner laufen. Das ist erst mal das Wichtigste. Ich bin gespannt auf das was mich da in Zukunft erwartet.

Ever since plain simple sh existed, such programs were coded. One such program was coded more than fifty years ago and is still in active use.

Please be so kind to use wisdom and intelligence when you react and respond to toots. You acted like a typical snobbish Linux user. Reactions like yours don't contribute anything positive, no one learns from toots like the ones you posted in this thread.

I've never had such responses from the people in the BSD range of Operating Systems.

Even here on the FediVerse the diverse responses from Linux only users and programmers were not of such nature and low caliber.

After testing out #RapidRaw, it wasn't really what I wanted.

Took #digikam for another spin on some raw images, and .. ok, I'm pleasantly surprised.

Panoramic pictures were handled smoothly, HDR merge went without much of an issue. Need to figure out some settings.

Don't get me wrong here. This isn't a shitpost about #Wayland. This is about the fundamental behavior of a shell changing simply by the fact of it changing the method of rendering to the hardware. #KDE #Plasma has many of these same issues on Wayland.

It just seems to me that there has been more focus on using Wayland, than delivering the same experience that was provided on Xorg.

Einer unserer Windows-Admins hat heute meinen KDE-Desktop gesehen und sehr interessiert und neugierig gefragt was ich da für "fancy Editoren" und für eine "coole Oberfläche" habe. Habe ihm ein paar Sachen gezeigt und er war offenbar ehrlich beeindruckt. Und ich habe mich sehr über seine Neugierde und Offenheit gefreut 😊
