As ever, I really enjoyed my time at the conference and can't thank the organisers enough for allowing me to present somewhat controversial (but hopefully interesting) viewpoints that don't get traction at other conferences.

Someone at #FOSDEM reached out to me about a organization that takes care of the logistics of hosting conferences? I.e. venue, ticketing and catering. And it was free for open source projects.
I remember Munich, London and Paris(?) as possible locations?
Sounded great. Forgot their name. Does anyone know?

@kkremitzki @concretedog I have invited the creators of the #OpenPrinter to our booth, but as the license for their published construction plans was a CC license with "non-commercial" restriction, the licens was non-free and so #FOSDEM organizers have not accepted them.
The creators plan to open up their license once their printer is in production, so perhaps next year you will see it on FOSDEM ...
While the badges @fossasia were selling at @fosdem have been hacked in 2013, user-facing means to use them are still lacking. Which is unfortunate, given that so many hackers now got them.
Inspired by another excellent dev conference, I've put together a plan for the next generation of badge firmware and software:
Basically, I wish it had an education potential, not just displayed text and sprites. I wish to amplify the fun.

Just found out about Digital Freedom Foundation @dff which organises freedom days for software, hardware and documents (Reminds me of #DIDay action in Germany rn! https://di.day/)
From their map, seems to be heavily Italian! Reminds me of another #FOSDEM talk from another network of mostly Italian projects.

On Monday, after #FOSDEM, I took my daughter to the Sart Canal Bridge.
"wow, they did a river above the street" is, more or less, what I heard when we approached the tourist attraction.
Sure, it was a long walk (buses were gone due to a strike), but it was worth it.
Canal above the roundabout. With wide sidewalk on each side (wide enough to go by car).
And then another 5km back to the train station.
One weird thing I noticed at #fosdem was that all the stands by Asian people were next to each other. It looked a little like "diversity corner".
I suspected I had not really survived #FOSDEM unscathed, and in fact there it is... Stuck in bed with the flu! At least this time it happened *after* FOSDEM and not before 😁
