… well if that #rgbParade crashes that hole of bugs called #Lightworks I have been using for years, why not just… switch off that scope and use an external analyzer.
Attached this #Lilliput field monitor that can do rgbParade, and from there passing through to my Eizo.
Turns out: The HDMI output of that monitor is not compatible with the DVI input of my old Eizo monitors. No image.
So now that I have explored all ways of failing, which perhaps would be a therapist's description of being clinically manic, the only solution remaining is: Don't do it.
There's a little hope still that Lightworks will not go bankrupt but instead will manage to fix the heap of bugs they introduced lately. This still won't give them really working audio editing,m but still…

🧵 #Lightworks fails me, #Blackmagic doesn't want me to try their #DaVincieResolve since it can't do h264 on #Linux (except you pay a lot of cash), #OpenShot is too stupid (can't do full screen monitor, and after 5 minutes of not finding out how to mute an audio track, I gave up on it)…
… now back at where it all started with my video editing on 2014 or so: #Kdenlive.
Now that looks familiar still. And it still can't do GPU acceleration. Oh well, it can, but the option is greyed-out even though I have libmovit8 installed.
So while Lightworks has learned to effectively play back even h265 on elderly machines, even without GPU decoding, Kdenlive already struggles playing back 4k h264 with flip and flop effect on that clip. (Lightworks uses OpenCL for FX, as would Resolve)
Actually after now 1,5hrs of trying to get a decent #NLE to run on Linux, after more than 10 years of doing video on Linux, I'm not at all in the mood for doing creative video work any more now.

продолжаю изучать #kdenlive а именно цветокоррекцию видео. Материалов на youtube хватает что бы найти интересное, но на РУ сегменте маловато видео по цветокоррекций. На EN сегменте очень даже придостаточно и даже пришлось воспользоваться установкой эффектов встроенным в kdenlive который сразу же накидывает нужные эффекты для покраски видео и это очень здорово. Не нужно ломать голову, а где этот эффект, а как он называется. Установил, перенес на таймлайн, и готово сиди и делай цветокоррекцию, и это радует, буду дальше эксперементировать, учится красить видео и возможно соберу даже видеоролик про зимний руфинг. Материалов собралось много, а сделать это не хватает времени либо нету желания, но надеюсь все встанет в строй и я все сделаю.

Selv mine AirPods Max fik jeg til at virke med perfekt lyd via et USB-C kabel.
For mig er det vigtigt at kunne gå i focus mode med et par høretelefoner og musik.
Jeg er ikke helt nået til at få DaVinci Resolve til at fungere med Ubuntu, da jeg først skal have bygget mig en vild stationær med Nobara Linux. I dag blev det derfor kun til let edit med Kdenlive.

I tried Qwen2.5-Coder-7B-Instruct.Q6_K locally with Ollama as the loader, asking it to create a simple Snake game in Python with Pygame and as an extra challenge, the instructions were given in German.
The game works well: the snake grows correctly, the grid and colors are fine. I just had to give the model a little nudge in two places:
- Don’t change the food color every frame
- Avoid recursive gameLoop() for "Play Again"
Qwen2.5 is a great co-pilot that handles most of the work, leaving only minor bugs to correct. German works surprisingly well ("Schlankkörpers" instead of "Schlangenkörper" does not matter, such errors can also occur in large models from time to time...) even though the main language is English. The model supports many programming languages such as: Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Bash, SQL… and more.
Conclusion: It still doesn't work completely without programming knowledge, but as a local assistant Qwen2.5-Coder is excellent.
btw my prompt was: "write the game again."

When it comes to #videoediting on #Linux most people talk about either #kdenlive or #davinciresolve - barely anyone seems to mention #Shotcut which is interesting to me.
I've been using Shotcut for basically 10 years now for mostly light editing, even before switching to Linux. It's cross-platform and #FOSS, available for Windows, MacOS and Linux. Maybe Kdenlive is that much more advanced than Shotcut - I wouldn't know since I only do simple video editing.
Any thoughts?

Интересно, что последнее видео по руфингу, я монтировал через DaVinci Resolve, без какого либо опыта в покраске, склеиваний, т.п, но недавно для себя открыл тот факт, что в #kdenlive можно так же заниматься цветокоррекцией, есть так же трекинг, и похожие функций, что в premier pro, DaVinci Resolve, думаю можно заняться его изучением и полным переходом на данный инструмент. Посидев вчера немного потыкал, сделал цветокоррекцию небольшого видео отрывка результатом доволен. Удивлен, что даже бесплатные инструменты могут конкурировать даже со всеми популярными и известными программами для монтажа. Заодно интересно посмотреть как работает шумоподавление в программе получая картинку чище с отключённым шумоподавлением в GoPro через прошивку GoPro LABS.
