OP is making a hasty generalization from his own experience hammering a 95A with a 200Ah LiFePO4 bank. Yes, even I would use a DC-DC (or increase resistance in the circuit) in that scenario. A wise man knows what his ass can bear.

I share data from my own direct-charging setup but I don't use it to tell other people what "they need." IME people who tell you "what you need" don't know and don't care what you need. Rant concluded.
