It's finally time for me to share maybe my craziest custom(isation) job so far: the identity font for Formula E! FE came to @NaN and me in 2022 and asked us to make a custom version of my NaN Jaune font. 3 years and a couple of updates later, they use it absolutely everywhere. On cars, race tracks, posters, websites, apps, TV graphics, trophies…

I've added some text as well as my custom SVG font, it's starting to get interesting the text is sometimes used as a pattern (because it's illegible) sometimes, written bigger it takes over the composition.

Experiment with a Perlin noise that defines the width and height of cells in which straight lines and a letter are placed alternately.

While designing the visual identity for CzeXperiment, we realised the significant role typography would play. Therefore, we created a custom typeface for the identity. Some of its features, such as the prominent letter ‘C’ and the thin diacritical marks and punctuation, help to build the identity, while others, like tabular figures and symbols, ensure seamless use in animations.
