I do wish that #HumbleBundle / TOR would include more metadata in their epub books, though. Nice to have for searching in #Booklore where all my ebooks live.

I think I'm getting the hang of #KOreader. I haven't looked into the plugins `and patches yet. Just trying to get a handle of making the base reader work for me.
So many configuration options, well-hidden.
It syncs progress nicely to my self-hosted #booklore instance. My only real complaints are with OPDS, but that's not a reader problem, per se.
User shelves on booklore aren't available via a reader connection. Very weird.

I set up BookLore (https://github.com/booklore-app/BookLore) to my homelab today and it's been a while since I've been this excited about my ebook collection.
It makes ebooks visible, like a bookshelf in a very different way than just a file listing on a e-reader or iPad.
My books used to be scattered around my NAS, my iPad, my Kindle and some other places so it feels good to have them all in one place that I can access anywhere.

I have made an exception to my "Fuck Docker" rule in order to run #Booklore.
I really do like it. I thought it would be nice to have it import by Calibre metadata, but the state of that over the years is more messadata.
Instead, I'm importing epubs in batches and fixing the data as I go (and writing the updates to the epub this time). So many stupid genres set by publishers in some books.
Only done like 300 as part of learning the interface, but it feels quite solid at 0.15

I was excited to try out it's #kobo integration because it would be great to send books to family and sync reading progress between ereader and phone but I was disappointed to see it's not possible to link it to a kobo app on a phone.
It seems like there's a number of FOSS server apps that support kobo sync but no Android apps that do other than the official one? Am I wrong?
My family has been using #koreader and OPDS for a while and I think it's great but it's not what you'd call a seamless experience. If it had kobo integration I wouldn't be in such a hurry to find something else...

I have #CalibreWebAutomated installed but find it a bit finicky and I've never managed to get it syncing with my Kobo successfully. I'm hoping that BookLore might do the trick.
The documentation provided is excellent. Now to add all my ebooks and let the Bookdrop functin work its magic!

#Selfhosting Sunday (is that a thing?)... Just set up #Booklore on my NAS to manage my meager digital book collection. #Calibre was overkill for my #ebook needs and I was a never a fan of the interface. Can't really comment on Booklore definitively at this point, but I will say that the interface is slick af. I am super stoked to dig into this and give it a whirl.
