#KOreader

@andreaslindholm

I use KOReader (on Android). It is the most configurable e-book reading app I've ever seen (and as such probably not for everybody ... but it has good documentation - also inbuild help).

Once you have configured it to your needs, it is very very good.

KOReader is open source, available for Linux, Android, Kindle, Kobo and PocketBook devices.

I'm on a Framework 12 and finally settled on koreader. For now at least. I'd love to use for reading since that's where a do just about everything else. But there is no touch screen support at and I wouldn't want the on screen keyboard up all the time. Maybe I could work on an integration between annotations and .

@debacle @gzt Yes, the lack of a physical keyboard is an issue (as it is on phones and tablets as well) but I wouldn't be typing much while reading. What attracts me is the possibility of annotating books in an easy to share manner (e.g. org mode capture) while also having full control of the display.

But this is just me dreaming. I'm generally very happy with koreader.

@ericsfraga @gzt

I use #koreader and also tried #plato on my #kobo. #Emacs without (real) keyboard? Can't imagine I would like it.

Today I learned that #Jellyfin can now handle ebooks and even serve an OPDS feed to my #KOReader device.

No need for a dedicated #OPDS server or #Calibre anymore!

Not sure if it counts, but Kobo ebook readers run Linux under the hood (= Linux kernel) and you can add #KOReader on top to have a more efficient ebook reader than the default :)

Finally got #Wallabag working through Docker! For some reason that was completely opaque to me, it was a complete ball-ache to get working with my proxy manager, but finally it works!

I've been using #Karakeep up until now as my article bookmark/read-it-later app, which works really well, but I really wanted to make use of the #KOReader Wallabag integration to read saved articles on my eBook reader.

Was it worth it? Almost certainly not.

Anyway, next on my list to figure out - FitTrackee.

I think I'm getting the hang of #KOreader. I haven't looked into the plugins `and patches yet. Just trying to get a handle of making the base reader work for me.

So many configuration options, well-hidden.

It syncs progress nicely to my self-hosted #booklore instance. My only real complaints are with OPDS, but that's not a reader problem, per se.

User shelves on booklore aren't available via a reader connection. Very weird.

This agrees with my experiences, even if I have rarely used the reflow feature. Koreader is one of these softwares that are extremely good but still not very well known.

May have gone a bit crazy by getting stickers made to cover up the logo on my jailbroken #kindle to instead advertise the awesomeness that is #koreader.

KOReader running on a jailbroken Kindle, showing the About page. There is a sticker on the bottom of the device covering the Kindle logo which instead says "Powered by KOReader".

@trankten es un BQ Cervantes 4 con #KOReader .

No sé por qué he tardado tanto.
