❓ Question 4 the geeks: I use my iPadPro exclusively for Procreate. I'd like to use it for more but can't stand iPadOS. I'm trying to install Linux via a VM (UTM), but tutorials only work on older models. Any tips on running Linux on my M2 while keeping iPadOS for my ❤️ Procreate?

I can’t believe how much I leveled up my art in the last month. Small changes of stuff I knew, understood, but had yet to really put in practice or achieve in a way that satisfied me aesthetically or worked for my way of working or what I wanted to paint. Doing master studies really seemed to unlock something for me, & all that learning was put into practice as I started doing my own work, applying what I learned came so much easier. I am really happy with my art right now.

Big learning curves learning to sculpt animals! Learned it's helpful to have a 3-D image to base it off of rather than a picture. But I love this little chipmunk! Ignore the drying wax on its ears and tail!

When I emphasize the slowness of my work process, I don't mean that I rest on my laurels and do nothing... /let's say it like that in English... The process is ongoing all the time; sawing the wooden bases, sanding, finishing the edges, priming with gesso, attaching the hanger and only then do we get to the actual painting. In this picture, that round birch plywood has been sanded and is waiting for the first layer of gesso to dry. I usually apply 2-3 coats of primer depending on the situation. Of course, you can do other work while it's drying... ✌️☺️🥰

Kun korostan työprosessini hitautta, en tarkoita, että lepäisin laakereillani tekemättä mitään... /sanotaankohan se noin englanniksi... Koko ajan on prosessi käynnissä; puupohjien sahaaminen, hiominen, reunojen viimeistely, pohjamaalaus gessolla, ripustuksen kiinnitys ja vasta sitten päästään itse varsinaiseen maalaamiseen. Tässä kuvassa tuo pyöreä koivuvaneri on hiottu ja se odottaa ensimmäisen gessokerroksen kuivumista. Laitan yleensä 2-3 pohjustusta tilanteen mukaan. Kuivumisaikana voi tietenkin taas tehdä muita hommia... ✌️☺️🥰

Tästä homma käynnistyy: on valittu sopivan kokoinen koivuvanerinen maalauspohja (riittävän paksu, jotta se ei kuivuessaan mene kieroon), hiottu se ja nyt aletaan laittaa kiinnityslanka (rautalanka) teoksen taakse.
Seuraavaksi pohjustus gessolla kaksi kertaa. Kun pohjustukset on kuivuneet, sitten päästään maalaamaan ensimmäinen aluskerros öljyväreillä. Tästä teoksesta tulee pyöreä.

“This is where the process begins: I’ve chosen a birch plywood painting base in the right size (thick enough so it won’t warp as it dries), sanded it, and now I’m attaching the hanging wire to the back. Next comes two layers of gesso. Once the priming has dried, I can start painting the first underlayer with oil paints. This piece will be round.”

Some trees don’t loose their leaves in winter, allowing birds to take shelter against the cold 🌿

This illustration took me 15 hours to make, 184 layers, and the video is sped up 600 times :)
