Starting to learn shading. ✍️

Tried to really separate out the form light, form shadow, terminator, cast shadow, core shadow, reflected light, half tones, center light, highlight, ambient light, ambient occlusion, and penumbra.

Sacrificed a bit of realism but this was a studying exercise. So not too worried there.

All part of the learning journey. 🤓

Had a lot of fun. On to the next! 🙌

Pencil drawing. A study of light and shadow. The subject is a simple sphere with the light source from above, slightly to the right, and slightly in front. Emphasis was put on separating out the various modeling factors (form light, terminator, form shadow, core shadow, reflected light, cast shadow, ambient occlusion, penumbra, half tones, center light, highlight, and ambient light).

Head construction practice. Left all of the guide lines and ‘mistakes’ in.

It’s been fun working through Michael Hampton’s course.

Lots of mistakes but that’s only that much more to learn from.

I use the name "Zorb" because i live a sober life, i am almost 11 years free from alcohol and more then 15 years from #tabacco and #cigarettes #addiction.
Also i don't use any #medication, i am #diagnosed with #adhd +10 years ago and the #doctors wanted me straight to #ritalin wich i #refused.

Along the way i learned how to handle problems, shitty situations and fear in a better more #stable way and i am still #learning today.
It's not always perfect but i rather be chaotic without #medication that #numb with them :)

Die Ergebnisse von gestern, ich finde es wirkt in beiden Farben richtig nice und kann mich nicht entscheiden, was mir besser gefällt :D

Hat sich jetzt nochmal heute einiges getan :) Es geht in kleinen Schritten auf das Ende und das vervollständigen der Zeichnung zu :) es wird aber noch eine schwarze Rüstung geben und dan hab ich auch schon ein paar Ideen für :D Bis hier sind nun 30 Stunden Arbeitszeit in die Zeichnung geflossen.

Was das "bisschen" mehr Farbe einfach für einen Unterschied macht. Die schädel haben ihre Farbe, bis auf die Augenhöhlen, da muss ich mir noch was überlegen und der Griff hat nun auch die passende Farbe. Richtig gut Progress heute gemacht, Colorationszeit bisher 4 Stunden. Gesamtzeit an dem Marine bisher 26 Stunden.
