Exciting news! I have placed an order with The Sound Journey Store in Lincoln ON for a Vibroacoustic Singing Bowl. This bowl was ethically made in their Nepalese foundry. Unlike my crystal singing bowls, this bowl was made to be placed on the body, to create a deeply relaxing and grounding experience. I can't wait to share this bowl as an additional offering!

Dreading the January onslaught of messages demanding that you “fix” your body so it conforms to an unrealistic ideal based on racism?

Interested in hearing from under-represented voices in public health that share different messages?

Announcing the Shared Stories Society!

Starting January 16 join me online Friday afternoons from 3-4:30pm Pacific Time for “media club”. This program invites participants to explore under represented voices in public health. We will examine books, zines, and more across the year. Each session will include time for grounding and self-reflection in addition to group discussion of the materials.

January through February we’ll be reading Aubrey Gordon’s book, “What We Don’t Talk About When We Talk About Fat”, and learn how anti-fat bias harms not only fat people, but thin people as well.

While this is listed as being for adults 60+, if you’re an adult younger than 60 and want to participate, please sign up anyway! We’ve officially expanded it to 40+, but if this is what you need and over 20, consider joining, just know the conversation may be biased to post-menopausal people.

Thankfully you can reduce that risk by growing mindfulness, adding simple movement practices, and making safer choices in your home & community.

I think yoga therapy is a game changer for the LGBTQIA+ 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ community because it goes beyond conventional psychotherapeutic models of therapy into one that allows people to access parts of themselves they never thought possible.

Are you or someone you care about worried about falling?

Fall prevention for older adults is vitally important because we’re more likely to be injured in a fall when we’re older. There are many simple changes people can make to reduce the risk of a fall.

I offer a 5-week course called Build Better Balance that explores prevention from several different approaches. Each week I introduce new movement and mindfulness practices and we cover a safety topic. Since it’s online people can sign up from anywhere! Sessions are recorded in case you can’t make all 5 sessions.

Cost for the full program is $10 for residents in the Portland metro area, only $14 for nonresidents! We meet for 90 minutes with a short break. Classes start at 1pm Pacific time.
