A quiet winter scene in black and white with a tall deciduous tree filling the frame. Their branches are bare, every twig is coated with hoarfrost. The frost turns the trees pale and luminous. Dark trunks anchor them to the ground. A narrow dirt path curves in from the lower left. It leads the eye gently toward the trees. Grass on both sides looks stiff and brittle. Winter has pressed it flat. The sky is clouded, but bright and empty, almost a pure foggy white. It erases depth and softens contrast. The trees seem to float into it. Nothing moves. No people. No animals. Just texture, tone, and quiet structure. Classic winter minimalism featuring strong shapes and subtle grays. A photo that celebrates line, rhythm, and stillness.

Reflections on Wilton Terrace

A glass fronted building on Wilton Terrace is reflected in the waters of the canal in Dublin earlier this month. I thought it might be the Canadian Embassy, but Google Maps shows it’s a slightly different building.

A night time view of a modern office building in Dublin, Ireland, with warm interior lighting illuminating the windows. The building is reflected in the still water of the canal in the foreground, framed by leafless winter trees and construction equipment on the canal bank.

The image shows a piece of wood or a stick floating on water. The surface of the water reflects the intricate branches of trees, creating an intricate pattern. The overall mood is calm and natural.

Walkden (Low Level) railway station site,
Opened in 1875 by the London & North Western Railway on the line from Eccles to Bolton (Great Moor St), this station closed in 1954, and was later demolished.
View northwest towards Little Hulton and Bolton. The former railway track has become a footpath. No trace of the station apparently remains.

Viewed from an overbridge, long straight path in a cutting, lined with bare-limbed trees
