I believe that #pi1541 is the worst way to spend money on #c64. It's just fine for recreating real floppies using it with a real 1541. Compatibility much lower than #sd2iec for my experience

I find myself in the odd situation that by day I lead projects on #augmentedreality and work on topics related to #automatedvehicles but by night I mess around with #retrcomputing kit like #atari #c64 and #zxspectrum . There is something elegant about there elder beasts and seeing how they can be pushed and brought almost into the modern era e.g. via #fujinet

Saint Dragon is one of those games that still have a bit of a zing of arcade excitement about it for me and is a long-time favourite. There's a neat mechanic with using your mecha-dragon's body as a shield, curling it around to block shots at the head. And it's got a pretty damn cool chrome and biomechanical aesthetic going on.
The Amiga version is a very respectable port in an era of less-than-great miggy conversions like UN Squadron. For one, you get music AND sound effects - always a good start. And aside from a few areas where the framerate gets choppy, the scrolling is pretty smooth.

Successfully got fork() to run on my OS. It’s far from complete, but now I have to work on task switching. The Stack Pointer and Stack duplication is working well.
Once task switching is in, I can get execa running then its on to execve!

For those who enjoy using Winuae for #Amiga emulation, I'll recommend something I've used for some time now and definitely enriched my emulated 'miggy experience and made it feel more authentic.
It's a carefully designed pairing of Reshade presets and CRT-Guest-based Winuae filter designed to do as good a job as possible to replicate the experience of using a Commodore 1084S/Philips CM 8833 monitor in terms of mask and colour correction.
There's a step-by-step guide and examples of what he tries to achieve and yeah, it's been really nice to have something for Winuae like this in addition to Retroarch.
So. The next stage in coding. We have a preliminary “bounce” of sorts (I’ll make a nicer one), plus there is transparency - so the big scroller goes behind the LED display, but is still visible.

My Z180 SC50 PC is complete and operating fully.
It’s so close I can taste the epoxy casing. I don’t quite know where in Canada Post’s system it is, since the tracking number I have is for some Chinese outfit that is regurgitating CP’s feed with no details.
But I *might* have my Z180 CPUs on Monday… we’ll see!
