#TIL I learnt that (all?) #Pentium4 CPU from Intel had a 64-bit feature but fused off for purely business reasons. I wonder whether 20 years later one will be able to bridge the fuse back with some ion beam or other nifty bleeding edge devices that are slowly coming to the realm of small labs.

Who would be the first hardware nerd to run CPU-Z on such a cursed x86_64 CPU?

And yes, #Microsoft prolonged the #FormatWar at the expense ob #bluray solely to get their #Streaming and #Download business off the ground.

So in the format war of blu-ray vs HD-DVD vs #HDVMD (yes you read right there existed a 3rd format, HD-VMD, that just tried to do absurd layer numbers to still use red lasers and be in theory cheaper to make discs and drives for!), the real winner are shitty Streaming Services like #Netflix and the like.

Tho I still think #BitTorrent owns them all as #delistings and absurdly high #subscription fees and lack of #physical releases at reasonable prices resurged #piracy , but that's just me #ReadingTheRoom and saying the obvious thing noone wants to admit.

Set up the other PC I had in the closet. Another old Dell (I thought it had Windows 2000, it's XP). I last actively used it around 2012-2013. Plugged it up, works, clearing off garbage software (Chrome!) I discovered that in true music freak form, I forgot I have like ~20GB of great music mp3s on here. Add the more recent stuff from my phone, I'll be almost back up to speed. Today's playlist is wild. I still listen to like 80-90% of it. Check the old apps in the 2nd pic before I deleted Tweetdeck, etc! 🤣 The BlackBerry one stays forever. 😍
