Bob, Rover, and the other search bot characters in #WindowsXP help make time spent in the operating system easier.

I like how the bots are predictable and don't try to interfere with decision-making.

Wäre es nicht einfacher und nachhaltiger eine offene Alternative für dieses Tool zu schreiben, um sich von der Abhängigkeit zu lösen? Meiner Meinung nach gibt es dieses Projekt schon 30 Jahre zu lange. #WindowsXP #Linux #Microsoft

Special shout out to @kirb , who runs the website “Legacy Update Dot Net.” It’s perfect for replacing Windows Update when Microsoft no longer supports your OS.

Also, special shout out to the team over at “Win32 Subsystem Dot Live,” who backport a modern Chromium-based web browser in the form of “Supermium,” which works on older versions of Windows, including Windows XP.

You shouldn’t use XP as a daily driver, but if you’re retro gaming and need to download game patches, having both of these available really comes in handy.

Other annotations state: “AMD RX6400 GPU is used for Linux. XP uses the Nvidia Quadro K420 seen above.” “2.5 Gbps Network card is used for Linux. XP uses the onboard 1 Gbps network card.” “Bluetooth is not required for XP gaming. I use my wireless headphones in Linux.”

At the bottom, CPU Properties and PCI Device Properties show hardware IDs. Red text notes: “The DELL T3600 has a weird onboard SATA / SAS controller. It sees the SATA just fine, but nothing seems to enable the SAS. My SAS hard drive is using Linux, and so I can ignore this. However, I do need to move the CD/DVD to SATA or use a USB CD/DVD drive.”

On the right, Internet Explorer shows LegacyUpdate.net, which replaces Microsoft Windows Update for XP.

@dfx Ich habe hier (71739) noch ein Pentium, Windows XP Server (1TB Raid) mit DAT (viele Bänder!) rumstehen. Weist du Jemand der den brauchen könnte? Würde gegen Speicher (HD, SSD etc..) tauschen, notfalls auch für ein bisschen Geld. Würde ihn ja verschenken wenn ich es mir leisten könnte 😭.
