Its got heat issues. Freezes without external cooling. I lack tech and knowledge to repair it myself.

Should fit HP elitebooks 830 & 840 G8
And has a 11th Gen i7

Sieht nicht schlecht aus. Wie ist der Preis ?
Wie lange arbeitet Ihr damit und seid Ihr zufrieden ?

Allerdings benötigen wir #Dual_nvme nicht #intern, sondern #extern als #SteckVersion.

Das haben wir leider noch nirgends gefunden. Und zwar DIREKT zum #Mainboard-Bus und möglichst
nicht über den Umweg #USB, was die Geschwindigkeit deutlich verringert.

Haben heute zum ersten Mal etwas von #Coreboot & Co. als #OpenSoftware #BIOS-Ersatz gelesen.
Habt Ihr #Erfahrung damit ?

Wir arbeiten z.Zt. mit Lenovo-ThinkCentre. Ist ganz gut, aber auch gebraucht sehr teuer.

Plus #nvme-#Umbausatz !! Wir sind sehr knapp bei Kasse und müssen manches zurückstellen, was wir eigentlich gern umgesetzt hätten.

Leider hat sich unser #Win7 letztes Jahr wegen defekter #Mainboard-Elkos sekundenschnell ins Jenseits verabschiedet. Seitdem arbeiten wir uns mühsam in Linux und neue Hardware (#Lenovo mit m2-Sata, bzw. #nvme) ein.

• See Z3735F (2,2W), N3010 (3W) & x5-E8000 (4W) having no successors of equally low TDP or even lower in production! The closest ist the i3-N300 (7W) and N95 (15W) respectably.

Add to it the rise of #SBCs like #RaspberryPi that further kicked the cost down in terms of basic computing and the big #Linux #community that welcomes cheap #hardware and does it's best to put it to good use.

• See the #MNTreform by @mntmn, which embraces #ComputeModules and doesn't have any #amd64 #mainboard (or rather #SOM) option AFAIK...

It truly confirms @landley 's saying that #Innovation in Computing it actually trickling up and thus #tech gets moved from the #Desk to the #Rack to "the #Cloud"...

• I mean, in many #DevelopingCountries the #Desktop and #Laptops get skipped for very cheap #Smartphones and cheaper #Tablets to the point that regular #PC's ain't common outside of businesses and government offices...

Obviously, I wished for truly #OpenSource'd #RISCv to take the place but that's about 5-25 years lagging behind #ARM due to #patents in many key technologies like #PowerSaving...

• But we've to admit that on a global scale, #Flathub is a #RoundingError in terms of #SoftwareDistribution, because not every Desktop - Linux distro supports it, much less uses it per default!
