Google fined for restrictive agreements on forking Android: GOOD!
Here is a nice comparison between the different Android projects based on AOSP.
Maybe this is useful for some folks out there. I've been using one of these for over two years now, and will never go back to iOS.

Since a few weeks I have an issue with getting a location on my #grapheneos #pixel8a. It takes up to 5 minutes to get a location where is no interruption to the sky. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? The only changes on my Phone where I think could effect this is the update to #android16 and I changed the mobile service provider.
@nixCraft There's also #CaylxOS for if the device isn't the latest, as #GrapheneOS focuses on a select few devices
Also for anyone considering a Pixel solely for #GrapheneOS or #CalyxOS, I'd advise you to Avoid the #Pixel8. Mine randomly died on me after 1 year after it went flat. Got told it was $300~$400 to replace it 😡

#eOS 3.0 has been released (#eelo / #Murana / #eFoundation / #deGoogled / #Android / #AndroidOpenSourceProject / #AOSP / #Linux) https://e.foundation/e-os/
Thinking of buying a new #smartphone? Maybe a #Google #Pixel because of long updates & #GrapheneOS? Think carefully about whether you want to buy the new 10 series after its release or rather one of the 9 series? The 9 series has support until August 2031, the 9a until April 2032.
Why not (more) the 10 series?
"In April 2025, we received leaked information about Google taking steps to strip down the Android Open Source Project. We were told the first step would be removal of device support with the launch of Android 16. We didn't get details or confirmation so we didn't prepare early."
This makes supporting the 10 series significantly harder for the #GrapheneOS project. The project is looking into supporting other devices from other manufacturers, the process seems difficult - see #Fairphone: https://grapheneos.social/@GrapheneOS/114671630177160997
