Kind of annoying that it's still supported while @bright_helpings #SamsungGalaxy S20+ 5G is too new for the y2s build to work on.

#LineageOS users, does anyone have any idea why I constantly get this message? When i tap on the notification, I'm told to unlock my screen, but then nothing happens after that. It's just my home screen. I keep checking, and I do indeed have the latest version of #Signal installed. What's going on here?

Switched to #degoogled #LineageOS as my daily driver. As someone who ran Linux on a laptop in 2005, I'm seriously impressed by the current state of open source. That said, I wouldn't recommend this setup to anyone other than enthusiasts and software engineers. Dealing with four application stores just to get started is far too confusing for a general user.
Not to mention I’m self-hosting my own infra, basically. I think that...

@bastian_S , ich habe letzte Woche erfolgreich #LineageOS auf meinem Echo Show 5 installiert. Inspiriert von #markwatttech nutze ich #viewassist als Voice Satellit. Finde das hat Potential.

Ich hole nachher einen #Amazon Echo Show 5 ab (via #Kleinanzeigen geshoppt) und flashe dann #LineageOS. Ich hoffe inständig, dass damit dann #HomeAssistant Voice Control funktioniert.

The standard #Android is really a nightmare in terms of structure/clarity. I have heard of senior-friendly launchers but at least on #Fdroid, the choice of launchers seems quite limited.

@SheDrivesMobility Eigentlich bin ich schon ganz gut ohne Big Tech unterwegs. Leider ist degoogle nicht ganz so einfach. Mobiles Banking oder die AOK Apps laufen leider nicht auf alternativen Handy Betriebssystemen, bzw. bekommt man die ausschließlich in deren App Stores. Deswegen habe ich mich noch nicht an Dingen wie #GrapheneOS oder #LineageOS ran getraut. @kuketzblog @kuketz

Unsere letzte wirkliche Abhängigkeit zu #BigTech besteht zu #Amazon. #Prime ist längst gekündigt, aber auf ein Äquivalent zu den Echos wollen wir nicht verzichten. Ich habe mit zig Gedanken gemacht, einiges getestet, aber letztlich ist nichts so gut integriert (hardwaremäßig), wie die Produkte von BigTech.
Aber es gibt scheinbar Abhilfe: es ist gelungen, #LineageOS auf Amazon Echos zu installieren. Supportet werden Echo Show 5 Gen 1 und 2, so wie Echo Show 8 Gen 1. Mit Home Assistant ist dann auch Voice Control gesichert :).

Updated my backup phone, a Pixel 4XL from LineageOS 22.2 to 23 (Android 16). Other than having to do it manually via sideloading because it was a major version update, it went as smooth as could be. Still runs fast and works well.
