I want to buy a tempered glass screen protector for my google pixel 8a phone. Pixel phones are not sold in my country so there's not a lot of options for me. All I can buy is some sketchy brands with terrible reviews. I don't know what to do. I want to buy a privacy one but all the reviews says that its terrible. Nano screen protectors come off very easily and "scratch" even with a fingernail so I really don't like them. Part of the reason I want to buy a screen protector is my screen's oleophobic coating is gone now and my finger leaves a lot of fingerprints. I hate it. If you have any recommendations for some cheap screen protectors for my phone or what I should do in general, please let me know.

Ich habe vor einiger Zeit #keepass2android, #InputStick (https://www.inputstick.com/) und kp2a als Bindeglied auf meinem #Pixel7a mit #Android14 installiert. Mittlerweile hat es sich auf #Android16 aktualisiert und funktioniert immer noch. Es gelingt mir jedoch nicht eine Neuinstallation auf einem #Pixel8a vorzunehmen, dass bereits Android16 hat. Die Funktion "über andere Apps einblenden" lässt sich nicht einschalten. Gibt's Ideen ?

I cleaned out a drawer and found screen protectors for almost a dozen #phones I or my parents owned over the years.

And I could see the #size progression. The oldest ones were about 5,4", and I still miss these days when my phone fit securely in my #pocket and I could use it one-handed.

My #pixel8a's battery is dying, and I'm trying to change over to a #fairphone4 that was my work phone. But it's a size jump and I am very unhappy with that.

I want my #xperiaz1 back. 🥺

I kinda got my eye on this #pixel8a case. That purple is pretty snazzy!

Somehow this doesn't look that great. Total phone screentime was less than 2 hours. Yet I'm now at 16℅ at the end of the day. 🤔

I took two pictures which triggered #Nextcloud to upload them.

I read some news articles with my web browser (#fennec)

I fooled around with AI (#lumo)

I didn't even open #AntennaPod 😭

But overall this is just way too much battery consumption on a phone that is just 7months old. (#pixel8a)

Fennec seems to stay active a lot in the background.

I just repaired my Pixel 8a broken screen. Got the replacement from @iFixit, great experience and documentation. I even got a replacement battery for the next year (I'm still at 320 cycles). I live in the EU, shipping took only 2 days.

Google official fingerprint sensor calibration tool works perfectly even when running @GrapheneOS rom.

Just wanted to share how good it feels to be responsible of my own hardware!

Offizieller Iode-Build für Pixel 8a (Akita)?

Es gibt schon eine inoffizielle Version von Iode 6.7 für das Pixel 8a (Codename “Akita”). Damit kannst du dein Handy per Fastboot installieren und Iode ausprobieren.

Das Iode-Team hat angekündigt, dass sie offiziell neue Images für das Pixel 8a vorbereiten. Ein OTA-Update für inoffizielle Builds fehlt noch, aber es wird daran gearbeitet. Wahrscheinlich erscheinen die offiziellen Downloads bald, noch bevor OTA-Updates starten.

Bis dahin kannst du die aktuelle Beta-Version über Fastboot installieren. Denke daran, vorher alle wichtigen Daten zu sichern!

Weekend project: installing #GrapheneOS on a brand new refurbished 🤣 #Pixel8a

Since a few weeks I have an issue with getting a location on my #grapheneos #pixel8a. It takes up to 5 minutes to get a location where is no interruption to the sky. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? The only changes on my Phone where I think could effect this is the update to #android16 and I changed the mobile service provider.

So it's phone migration day (pixel 6a -> 8a)

And once again I experience how bad the android phone migration process is.

Why can't it just copy everything over ? I really shouldn't have to reconfigure my various email accounts / banking / social media apps etc etc.
