#WisBlock

2025-12-16

Hi everyone! This is my first post in a long time. I'm cross posting this from Facebook.

I made my first proper node based on the RAK WisBlock 4631! This is my first time deploying a project in the wild all by myself so I'm really excited! I've included a solar panel and a solar charge controller to allow this system to self-sustain, and it's been running for two days without issues (though the 10000 mAh battery is overkill -- I'll replace that in the future). Thanks to the community for driving the initiative and for constructive discussions on building nodes.

Help me out, LazyWeb! I'm looking for adapters, or breakout boards. My rotary encoder came with the 40 pin WisIO connector, but my smol #19003 base board takes only 24pin WisSensor connectors. Playing around with Boosts appreciated.

For my Mini Node I’m in need of some help sourcing what I guess is a #RAK produced Mini IO board but pretty sure it no longer exists 😔 been following this project from Printables

printables.com/model/286662-ra

And it has a link to Etsy for the Mini IO board to expose a button but no joy so far figuring out what it actually is or where to purchase.

Rapidly moving my meshtastic nodes over to meshcore 🤘🏿

Going very smoothly so far. Meshcore is notably very fast at message delivery and delivery confirmations back to the sender.

Thinking I'll leave my primary meshtastic infrastructure nodes up and build meshcore nodes to deploy next to them so as the network matures I can do head to head comparisons.

#meshtastic Can a #solarnode using the #RAK (#wisblock) wake up automatically when, following the battery system powering it having gone flat due to lack of sun, the battery is eventually recharged when the sun shines again? There has been discussion about a wake up / restart needing a manual intervention like pressing a reset button or unplugging and re-plugging the (solar re-charged) battery. This issue is really important in case the node is placed somewhere inaccessible. continued.... 1/10

#WisBlock #rak4630 using Android #meshtastic app. What does the blue light mean when it flashes on sometimes? Cheers.

#meshtastic #WisBlock #RAK19007 battery #socket polarity wrong way round. What is best work-around if I want to keep plugging in batteries that I charge using the right polarity?
1) Cut the cables & swap the poles of my batteries & then adapt chargers' polarity round? Is that a fire risk if someone then puts in a normal polarity battery?
2) Soldering out socket & turning it round?
3) An adapter to be had?
4) Adapt the socket?
5) Adapt the battery plug?

Das ist so korrekt. Die beiden
#T-Beam Gateways laufen 24/7 ausschließlich als #Gateway.
Ich nutze nur den
#RAK5005 / #WisBlock. Wenn das Gehäuse angekommen ist auch wieder mobil 😉

IoT-Projects for Makers with from

The English version will be available from amazon.com on June 30, 2023. I hope that the readers will have as much fun working with the WisBlock modules as I had written this . The German version is already available as an eBook from amazon.de, and the printed version will follow in the next few days. 2023-06-28/CK

My -buffered -node works from March 2022.

Via this public link app.datacake.de/skript-verlag- you can see the operation of this LoRaWAN-node.

Further applications based on from are described in a new available at amazon.de/IoT-Projects-Makers-.
