The thorny fucker roots came out fast, although it's easy to miss a few, maybe I should've just dug out the whole plants instead.

The old apple trunk had big roots and I had to dig deep and then tear them up with the teeth, but it came out eventually.

Filling back in and flattening took some time, too.

Small excavator digging up an area of cut down thorny fucker plants. A nest of upside down roots is next to the bucket and the ground is torn up at a shallow level in the area.

The same mini excavator is victoriously lifting a big apple stump out of the ground. A googly eye is attached to the excavator arm, looking down at the stump. Behind a surprisingly large hole is dug and a big mound of fresh earth piled up that needs filling back in.
