Late afternoon in a dark winter forest.
After almost two months of battling a cold, I finally went to the forest with my camera for a short walk. It was cloudy and dark, but at least I remembered how to turn on the camera.

An autumn forest, with a small town, a river, mountains and cloudy sky in the background.

When I need to use up paint to clear out a palette, I reach for Canson XL watercolor paper; no stress, just putting brush to page withour caring if it turns out well. I had a small palette with colbalt blue, quin purple, and Mayan Dark blue genuine; using a petals 10 and a round 6, I painted some leaves.

This is a watercolor painting of botanicals with stems. Some of the leaves are painted with DS Mayan Dark Blue Genuine which leans a little green and are rounder with sharp tip. The other leaves are a mixture of Colbalt Blue, Quinacridone Purple, and Dark Mayan Blue and look like a lavender color and are longer.
