@slyecho I was hoping that the "whisper" audio-to-text LLMs would gain hardware acceleration for that Hailo NPU (on that AI Hat+ 2), but alas, there's no mention of Hailo/Raspberry Pi hardware yet, here:

@geerlingguy new plan. It seems the #raspberrypi 4 I have laying around from a previous abandoned project should be sufficient to run #plex on my #appletv4k.

I now ordered 2x 5TB 2.5” drives and encosures. one to attach to the #NAS and the other to my laptop whenever I do video work. will set up CarbonCopyCloner to auto-sync whenever the external drive is attached.

Will attach another 2TB 2.5 drive I still have for Time-machine backups.

2x 2.5” HDD is decently power efficient.

My #RaspberryPi and external HDD enclosure #NAS has been installed at my mom's apartment out of sight and out of mind with the other network gear.

#BorgBackup has been archiving to it nightly over #Tailscale with no issue. One step closer to getting all of my data out of #Microsoft and #Google #datacenters with my own off-site #backup solution

Today I'm playing with my Raspberry Pi 5 16GB, and the new-fangled "AI Hat+ 2". I don't really like docker, but will play along, following the documentation provided, to get a nice "Open WebUI" web interface for the chats:

Nu ik toch wat minder op de fiets zit (ijzel), heb ik mooi de tijd om een lokale fileserver in elkaar te knutselen met een Raspberry Pi als basis.

Standaard OS geïnstalleerd.
Samba geïnstalleerd.
Externe HD aangesloten.
smb.config inrichten en gaan!

Moet zeggen, werkt perfect! Nog snel ook!

Hey #raspberrypi folks I need to access the partitions on a Compute Module 5. I've used rpiboot on both MacOS and CachyOS, multiple different USB cables and I can't get it to appear as a usb device. I can't get it into a state where I can re-flash it either. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A regular microSD card is a consumable item for the #RaspberryPi (and similar devices) if you frequently write to the disk.
The disk may die in 3 months. Endurance microSD last more than 3 years. But still, make #backups.

@howard @xenodium There is also #mpd, easy to set up on #raspberrypi and with a client in #emacs .

Managed to power off my Raspi4 by pulling the wrong cable.
Well, no big deal, right?

Yeah, well.. Raspi4 is up again, suddenly my monitoring alerts me. "Raspi4 down"

Huh?

Turns out, the #DHCP reservation in my #Fritzbox wasn't set for this #RaspberryPi.

TIL: My Fritzbox ignores the preferred IP setting my #Raspberry sends along with the DHCP-Request.

*sigh*

Another thing to figure out.
