#tailscale ist echt super! Hab gerade das DNS-Feature entdeckt und da kann man für Hosts gültige Zertifikate generieren lassen. Die sind nur im jeweiligen Tailnet erreichbar. Sehr schick für interne Infrastruktur.

I've had my Steam Deck OLED since launch, but I wasn't using it as much as I could because it lived on my desk. So I set up always-on remote access.

Now I can stream games to my Apple TV, remote into Desktop Mode from my iPad to install things, and access it from anywhere via Tailscale.

Full walkthrough covering VNC for Screens 5, Steam Link, and Moonlight/Sunshine - no port forwarding required.

Any #tailscale users know why when trying to add it to the iPad the login page in the app spins forever. Been fighting it for about an hour with multiple downloads and iPad resets.

I might write a blog about this, but for right now, I just want to get my thoughts down because I'm just happy I got it working :blobCatBounce:

TIL: if you use #Tailscale and #LetsEncrypt, you can host private URLs on a subdomain and still use your current TLS certificate so your browser doesn't yell at you. The domain will resolve, but any systems not on your Tailscale network won't be able to open whatever's hosted there.

For example, if your domain is tiggi.es (sorry Leo :blobfoxlaughsweat:):

1. Pick a subdomain you want to use (like my.tiggi.es)
2. Add *.my.tiggi.es to your domain records and have it point to the Tailscale IP address of your host (like 100.0.0.5 or whatever)
3. Add *.my.tiggi.es to the list of extra domain names included in your Let's Encrypt certificate. This goes in extra domains only: tiggi.es should still be the main domain on the cert.
4. Host whatever services you want on *.my.tiggi.es: grafana.my.tiggi.es, nextcloud.my.tiggi.es, etc.
5. Save your changes and reload/restart Let's Encrypt, Nginx, etc.

I have #headscale running now. I was also assured that I could run the #tailscale client on the control server and let it be an exit node.. So I did and apparently it's working (only after that I read in headscale FAQ this is not supported at all.. :( )

But let's say it's fine for a moment. Now I have configured a few nodes but, while for windows and linux ones I was able to allow LAN access, on Android there's no way of making it work.

Any tip?
