(*toxic kiddos disliked this*)

@toxy FWIW, I think @protonprivacy’s answers about #ProtonMail’s opt-in business-only #LLM #AI email composition tool #ProtonScribe are okay:

mastodon.social/@protonprivacy

mastodon.social/@protonprivacy

But it’s a bad look to announce a #cryptocurrency product while you’re still trying to manage the controversy around an entry into a similarly-sketchy category

Nah there’s no rush mate #protonscribe

Well, the silver lining with the #protonscribe sillyness is that it’s a paid extra. I almost feel financially rewarded for not using it!

I do still worry about the path @protonprivacy seems to be taking. Some of the products are still half-finished, or access to them is still not what it ought to be. (Still no standalone Bridge for command line as far as I can tell; poor Linux / BSD support… ) But new features that nobody asked for are being introduced just to get on thy hype train.

In fact, @protonprivacy boosts actually any kind of posts, I really don't understand the logic of their bot. Probably the same kind of code as the one in #ProtonScribe then.

how am I supposed to recommend @protonprivacy to anybody?...

I now regret having recommended it so many times in the past. They have degraded the service and lost my trust.

If they want to be the privacy service, they should BE the privacy service. If they want to cash in on this LLM bullshit they should just fuck off and do it in some other bogey start-up.

Can we have no dependable provider?...

If @Tutanota promise that they won't do any #AI #enshittification like @protonprivacy with #protonscribe , I swap providers right now.

Proton launches Scribe, a new AI writing-assistant that can run locally in Chromium based browsers. It’s great to see open-source, secure, and privacy focused alternatives to the AI giants’ services.

@protonprivacy is #protonscribe for businesses only or can individual and family subscribers access it as well?
