Y2 Computing Ltd UART board to allow connection to Prestel using a Commodore PET. Prestel was a UK Videotex service that ran from 1979 to 1994 in the UK.

I worked in a government Press Office and we showcased #Prestel to the international media during the 1979 Rhodesia Constitutional Conference.

I remember many journalists were gob-smacked by it and more interested in that then the moments leading up to the Lancaster House Agreement.

Would agree with you. Figured that would involve drilling into things I don't know how to get to the Queen would let a moth in. I don't think any UK company that has been a clue. I had #Prestel set up in my office and when visitors came by, especially from overseas, they were simply amazed by it.

Now, it seems quite antiquated compared to what one can do these days.

I have removed all contact forms from my viewdata/teletext websites.
