Checked in on the latest tape going through the teletext recovery setup, and discovered I was capturing teletext from the VBI while teletext was also in-vision on Pages From Ceefax. Very meta.

Not a trick, and you were right but for the wrong reason.
The BBC demonstrated a prototype Ceefax on Tomorrow's World in October 1972, and it was in field trials in 1973. The Internet was invented in 1973, and Stanford, BBN, UCL, et al. were pushing packets around by 1975.
New pence, Ceefax, ABBA, and (according to its inventor) the pronoun "xe" all pre-date the Internet.

Watched some random TV whilst at the gym and remembering that, with #Ceefax #Teletext you used to be able to press a button during the programme and it would take you straight to the teletext site for the recipe, or travel agent or helpline page. For all of digital TVs vaunted links it actually has less functionality.
