One thing I do not like about international politics and their frameworks is that it is often messy. #OregonStateUniversity #Oregon #PNW #PacificOcean
For instance, is Donald Trump's potential acquisition of Greenland through bribery and military force against Denmark going to upset this Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction Agreement?
Because I'm in the camp that now feels all sides are wrong on the issue of how to better treat our environment. Both the left and the right need to get their affairs in order. I ask that the public through its leaders stop giving the narrative over to the corporations who are at the helm of economics, for one.
Of course Donald Trump is a pedophile heathen rapist asshole who buys his way around political office. How he was elected non-consecutively for two terms for the second time in American history is anybody's wild fucking guess.
But at the same time, the new (or old) world order with its constellation of nations that passed this historic biodiversity jurisdiction agreement has to know that what goes for one country, goes for all countries.
So, if Greenland's sovereignty or its autonomy is clawed back by Trump's bogus international real estate debacle, then will the rest of the world claim that since Greenland is now illegally annexed that the whole biodiversity agreement is voided internationally? Because a bad leader working in an international role would try that just to gum up the works and appease Trump. We've seen this time and time again in American politics with the GOP. They are sick mofos and they are pretty sinister. Most of the Congressional GOP including that traitorous Senator Josh Hawley, have been more or less successful insurrectionists in more than just the name since January 2021.
Because, that is exactly how the modern and rapidly aging octogenarian politicians across the world now think, including those in leadership within the United States. "It's mine or it's yours. We want it all or instead nothing at all. Live or die." Extremism in both the political and economic worlds has been running too fast and too well. Those folks without the influence, the functioning votes to vote the bad ones out of office, or those without any real capital are not easily able to change anything from within or more to the point change anything from outside the system anymore.
Our votes are being hijacked by elements of the corporatocracy. Our agreements and treaties to sustain the oceans won't help the oceans or any humans for that matter if the world's politicians can be bought off or paid to look the other way for a short while.
Just ask the descendants of the Native American tribes who were screwed by US President No. 7 Andrew Jackson. When those treaties were written in good faith during the 1820's the US government was somehow at the same time using the badly written agreements and the conspiracy of silence to drive out the Natives Americans from their own lands.
