I remember volunteering with #OneLaptopPerChild #OLPC and the effort to figure out and work with Wikipedia on how to get a downloadable copy of Wikipedia (or at least some of it) that could go on the little green laptops that might not have regular access to the Internet out in remote areas.
I know Ramy from the #OneLaptopPerChild community. He told me he has a multimedia degree from Palestine University and 10 years of experience in electronics, medical equipment, electric/hybrid cars and electric bikes, maintenance and design of electronic devices, and solar energy, CNC & 3d printing, and PC maintenance/programming. He is willing to test to show his expertise in any of these subjects. Can you help connect him with anyone that can help? 2/

Anyone remembers the #OLPCXO? The device from from the #OneLaptopPerChild tech project disguised as #humanitarian?
Spotted one “in the wild”, last week. It was running Ubuntu instead of Sugar. And its use had little to do with the original purpose of the “$100 laptop for children in the developing world”.
To this day, the whole project is a reminder of the dangers of #Technosolutionism and the perils of #NarrowThinking, despite #Papert and #constructionism
