Dear Yahoo mail,

I will NEVER enable push notifications for email. No, not even important ones.

I can count on half a hand the number of apps I have it enabled for, and even those, I review regularly.

If I want to know what's happening with a particular app, I will open that app and check.

I hope I've made my position clear. Now, would you please stop nagging me to enable notifications once a week, when I open you on my phone?

Just revoked the "full screen notification" permission on Android from every app that wants it.

Is that really how people use their phones, that that's a feature; do people have so many notifications going off on their phones constantly that when they get one, it may or may not be important?

I have four silent notifications while I'm typing this, but those don't count; I like them. 😂

We've been trying to trace the source of an occasional notification sound on our desktop, but hadn't been able to find it.

Due to fortunate timing, we realised it was triggered by the quote toot function defaulting to playing a sound when it happened!!!

All we had to do to get rid of it was:

• Click on Notifications.
• Click on the settings icon on the right to expand the options.
• Scroll down to Quotes.
• Click on Play sound to unselect it.
• Click on the settings icon again to collapse the options.

I am still getting the #email #notifications I requested about my WINGS_radio #mastodon #posts but the #Notifications #link is still #not #working if I try the link while I am simply logged in. However, if I open a notification email and come back to the Mastodon site that way, I can read my notifications! Awkward and mysterious.

Nice! Mastodon updated or something on iOS, and now I can get push notifications again!

For the record, my notifications were always on, but there had to have been a bug in the code that made the app not display them.

Now, I can see who interacts the second it happens!
