New drawing: ‘This hinterland of grace’ is the third drawing in my series ‘Indulgences’. The title comes from a poem ‘The Heart’s Long Coast’ by Adrian Blamires which he wrote for my exhibition of the same name.
There are many ways to loop back on one’s references: some may be earnest and misguided, but others are instinctive and hence true, firing like a pinball kept alive on flips and tilts.

Boston’s Custom House. Built in 1837-47 with a tower added in 1913-15. Added to National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
