I've replaced #foobar2000 since I can't get it to work on #wine. So I've essentially built a working terminal system using #Zellij, cava, and cmus.
I was using #DeaDBeeF for a little bit but I am not good with Playlist Managers. I much preferred the CUI interface that's an additional component for foobar2000.
cmus is doing a good job until a *real* alternative to foobar2000 comes out. #music #cli #linux
I knew about `0xDEADBEEF` but I just found out about all these other “magic” debug values… the iOS ones are particularly funny

@revengeday @kyberklang First time I read about this project. Looks amazing. Never thougt something could replace #DeaDBeeF 😃
Follow-up: I also tried #foobar2000 to see if it was any better than #deadbeef - but found you can't bind spacebar to play/pause. That's just crazy. Sticking with Deadbeef.
High-cost battles? Losers just hit their pain threshold, not brains. Models hacked by nature’s desert-cult logic. 🌵 Study shows theorists got schooled in the war of attrition. #Deadbeef

#deadbeef is a real nice small music player for Linux. Clean user interface, many functions, highly configurable with a very small memory footprint.
But it's "design mode" with which you can rearrange the UI is a deep PITA. Yes, you can customize nearly everything. But the way to do that is a road to hell, likely developed by a weirdo.
DeaDBeeF 1.10 Release Brings New Features
A new version of DeaDBeeF music player is out, bringing some cool features, FFmpeg 7 support, and a flurry of bug fixes to long-time fans. The popularity of traditional desktop music player apps has dipped considerably since the arrival of music streaming services like Spotify, which give users on-demand (and often free) access to a far larger catalogue of artists, albums and releases. Still, many people (myself included) have libraries filled with MP3 and other audio files, and do enjoy listening them. I’d wager most such users have (by now) settled on their preferred local music player; for many, that :sys_more_orange:

DeaDBeeF für Linux – fast wie iTunes
Man kann von iTunes halten, was man will, aber für große Musiksammlungen kommt man eigentlich nicht um diesen vielseitigen Mediaplayer herum. Nur gibt es diesen nur für Mac OS und […]
I think I found a 🦄 #MusicBrainz GUID, is that a thing @metabrainz ? https://musicbrainz.org/work/deadbeef-8b7a-396d-b289-b0976fbc3004
Amidst the hype for open-source #Winamp I was desperately looking for a native #Foobar2000 alternative for Linux. Since things went downhill for #DeaDBeeF, especially with Plasma 6, I wanted something equally customizable and with a waveform seekbar and... found it!
Meet #Fooyin, a player that takes FB2K approach, in early yet active development with a big roadmap ahead. So give 'em a star on GitHub if you're an alien head fan like me!
Just gone 3am and I'm playing around with my DeaDBeeF layout, think I've got it how I want it for now, should probably sleep...

#deadbeef: another great open source and multiplatform #musicplayer that I think it should migrate to GTK4 👇🎶
#DeaDBeeF is the best music player on Linux... I wish it had a better name
DeaDBeeF (as in 0xDEADBEEF).
Ein Grund weniger, Windows zu nutzen. Läuft perfekt auf Xubuntu. Musik direkt vom Dateisystem abspielen.
One less reason to use Windows 🥳
Played around with DeaDBeeF audio player customisation tonight, pretty happy with the results.
