Today I sent ncurses #bug report about #VT220 terminfo initialization string. Apparently there has been a typo for over 30 years. I spotted it when testing my VT220 emulator, and it was complaining about it.

"The ceasefire agreement in Gaza has provided desperately needed hope and relief for so many people whose lives have been devastated by conflict. DEC charities and their local partners have been able to scale up their work thanks to generous donations.
Now people in Gaza are facing another devastating winter. The levels of need remain catastrophic, but DEC charities are continuing to provide lifesaving support to people."

I like the #XFCE desktop on #Linux and #FreeBSD as it is full featured, bug free, and lightning fast. I noticed the battery life on my new laptop was ok, but found it odd why the CPU was running at high frequencies at all up to 5GHz. So I set the maximum CPU speed at 500MHz, which is faster than the insane speed of a #DEC #Alphaserver in the early 1990's. And this is still that fast, but with 8 cores. And now the battery is on the second day at 86%. Even when compiling code, 500MHz is insanely fast. The battery charge might last longer than some calculators I had...

Hey, DEC enthusiasts-- I have a blown power supply from a VT102 sitting on a shelf. I haven't been able to diagnose it and I'm unlikely to do so in the future. Is anyone interested in taking it for parts? Happy to ship it within the US.
A short overview and history of the PDP-10 family of DEC computers with references to preservation and emulation resources.
