Tonight I succeeded in bringing a 33-year-old vaporware BBS game back to life!

After Steve Turnbull sent me the C source code to his unfinished IGS blackjack game "Wildcardz!", I ported it to Javascript. Now I can run it on my Synchronet BBS!

It's a really impressive IGS game. I doubt any ANSI BBS card game could compare visually.

An update — Steve Turnbull finally wrote back to me! And it turns out, he *does* still have some of the files and code for the vaporware "Wildcardz" IGS game he was working on.

Good news on tv today

I think I'll try to make a little game as the specimen of my new font.

For now, I think I'll name it "10humps" but I'm not sure. Each glyph design is based on a 10x10 grid and I guess it look like it got humps (as @neauoire suggested)

It suggest features like asterisks characters being spikes, double quote being bridges, X being ladders, colon being walls and floor, plus sign as collectible. Special characters are made for player and a few monsters.

My first new piece of art for 2026 was the text file art for the Happy Nude Deer Scroller at rsync 2026, featuring my own version of the deer rendered entirely in plain ASCII. It was a lot of fun drawing this guy in (almost) nothing but punctuation! :3
