J. #Serano #debunked "#autogynephilia". Nothing new so far. But what was new to me is that R. #Blanchard engaged in #bisexual and #asexual #erasure to justify his claim. 🤦

Amusing and VERY LARGE, N = 414,000 (!), survey of a set of questions about erotic arousal by gender for cis, enby, and trans people.

It turns out that they are ALL "auto*philiacs."

It basically blows the *idea* of being trans as "AGP fetish" not just out of the water, but off the planet.

It is a fun survey report and worth reading and saving.

I would love to see it published as a peer reviewed paper.

What troubles Singal and his ilk about our objections to Blanchardism is that we are upsetting the order. Blanchardism claims we are disgusting and evil, so we cannot contest his claims that we are disgusting and evil, because we are disgusting and evil. Because he is a cis PhD who makes these claims in papers and books, because he is Credentialed, he is allowed to claim this. When journalists frown concernedly that we disgusting and evil trans people are objecting to our characterization as disgusting and evil by Credentialed Men, this cannot be taken seriously as a concern about epistemology and empiricism. It is very strictly a concern that a marginalized group, one particularly defined in the language of disgust and perversion, is attempting to redefine ourselves in terms of humanity and dignity. The cockroach is not allowed to become human.

It has to do with whether trans people are to be allowed any social authority over our own lives.

The trans woman subject is not to be trusted. Her interior feelings are postulated *by the model*. The model is not *derived from her feelings.* The psychologist comes in from the outside, with his theoretical model of transsexualism, and then in an adversarial manner with an expectation of dishonesty, attempts to divine which category a trans woman belongs in. This is not generally how clinical psychology is conducted. However, by building the theoretical model *first*, and attempting to validate it with observations *after* - rather than the normal scientific process of building a model *after* making many empirical observations - all responses can validate the model. This has obvious benefits to the researcher - he gets the research and clinical outcome *he* wants - but in addition to being bad science, it’s devastating to the subject. In Blanchard’s typology, trans women are defined as delusional, dishonest, and motivated by shameful perversion.
