Not much progress on project #PixelSmaug in the last days because for whatever reasons my brain decided it's extremely satisfying to wind and sort my entire floss collection. Recently completed scarf. All cotton. Draft is one of Ingrid Boesel’s Thrilling Twills.

11 shafts, 11 treadles. I still haven’t used all 12 shafts and 18 treadles on my loom.

Handwoven scarf draped over a loom. The warp is black. The weft is blue. The pattern is a series of blocks in a twill that gradually goes from more black to more blue , both within each block and across the whole thing.

Second pair for 2026.

Picture and lighting aren't great, but they are leaving my house tomorrow so there won't be another chance to make a better one.

Colorful socks for a dear friend, smaller than I'm used to (her feet are about 4 sizes smaller than mine). I hope I got the sizing right. 🤔

Leg is done in sections of fisherman's rib and twisted rib, so that part is really squishy.

When you finally finished a piece (while going nearly blind with 1 eye and waiting for surgery), want to take it off for washing - and then the new rectangle embroidery hoop rips a hole in it. 😭

Light blue pillow case with a big quilted rainbow-hexie-flower and other and a smaller patch with a heart. You can also see the seam on which the words "Für Maus von Mama" (To my little mouse, from mom") are stitched on with rainbow coloured thread.

My "almost a square meter of bobbin lace" is soon to reach its end. Just gonna finish this board and then I need to tie off the loose ends. And after that hand-sewing to a cloth I have already woven of the same thread (16/4 linen). In March this beauty will go to my exhibition in the Finnish Craft Museum.

The pattern is from 18th century. The name is 'Cornucopia vine' (in Finnish Runsaudensarviköynnös), though that is given by some researcher. The original name is not known.

Approximately 65 cm wide bobbin lace made on big boards. The lace is white linen, one end still attached to the boards used in making as the lace is still in progress. Length is around meter and a half.

30 inches wide makes it a little slow going because it’s a bit awkward reaching that far. I’m using the big shuttle so I don’t have to wind bobbins so frequently. These will be bath towels to match the hand towels I made a few months ago.
