数字にとりつかれた男が精神のバランスを崩していく…いや、そもそも崩していたのか？そういうところは『ブラック・スワン』にも似ていて結構好きだ。あと、別にモノクロだからってだけじゃなく、主人公がちょっと変わっていたりして一筋縄では行かない話の雰囲気に、クリストファー・ノーランの『フォロウィング』を思い出した（これは夫も言っていた）。
NY、地下鉄、ユダヤ人コミュニティなんかを見ると、『コート・スティーリング』の答え合わせというか、なるほどこういう作風か！と納得がいくところも多い。
