Quelques souvenirs :
- un trajet avec le train avec le boue partout dedans (même sur les porte-bagage en hauteur!) merci les étudiants bourré après les 6h brouettes...
- un trajet en face d'un jeune belge qui revenait d'aller chercher son petit copain japonais, ...
Avec mon fils on adoré les chemins de fer belges. La première bonne surprise c'est que c'est gratuit pour lui (jusqu'à 12 ans je crois). Les trains qu'on a pris étaient propres et super ponctuels. Il faut un peu de temps pour comprendre le fonctionnement mais le train est pratique pour se déplacer dans Bruxelles car à la différence de Paris, les gares sont reliées entre elles. Lors d'un arrêt en gare une cheminote a fait un grand sourire et a donné des stickers à mon fils sur le quai alors que ce n'était même pas notre #train. Bref, la #SNCB c'était son souvenir préféré de notre séjour à #Bruxelles.

I have updated the🇧🇪 #Belgium 🚂 Railway Diagram trilogy for 2026. These three diagrams are based on a 30° structure in order to fit the numerous radial lines to #Brussels. They attempt to untangle the many hourly services around Brussels. However, by 2026, some of the S trains had been somewhat systematised.There are weekday and weekend versions. In addition, a third diagram shows all single P trains of #SNCB #NMBS.

In the early 2000s, in #Belgium 🇧🇪, one could still see loco-hauled services like the one on the photo: an #SNCB #NMBS Class 62 diesel, working a train composed of #M2 type cars. The #Geraardsbergen to #Gent line in western Belgium was one of the places where one could still witness this type of operation.

Of course DB had to cancel the train I would be taking from Köln to Brussels, despite the Belgian site about the strike saying that ICE traffic is unaffected.
DB graciously offers me to reuse the ticket with no train binding (of course it can only offer that for its own trains), but the set 2 hours later is a Flix+ICE which I can't use. Other alternatives make the international part of the trip invalid.
I can either go with a new ticket 2h earlier or reuse 4h later.

Z'ont inventé la correspondance de 1 heure et 3 minutes
Ton train arrive bien à l'heure. Tu traverses le tunnel sous voies et arrive sur le bon quai sans hésitation. Et là, tu vois ton train qui démarre sous ton nez. T'as plus qu'à attendre pendant 1 heure et une minute le suivant. C'est normal. C'est prévu comme ça dans l'horaire. Même pas à cause de la neige.
